Last month we introduced the Liv-ex Lafite Index, which tracks younger vintages (2000-2006) of both Lafite Rothschild and its second wine, Carruades de Lafite. As we said then, “the Liv-ex Lafite Index looks certain to move back into positive territory by month end”.
So with August now over, how has it performed?
The index didn’t just beat the previous high, it smashed it - reaching 391 by month end. This is 6% above the previous high set in June 2008 and represents a growth of 32% in 2009.
