First Growth prices climbed rapidly in October, driving all of the Liv-ex indices to record highs. The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index saw its most notable rise since June, increasing 2.5% to 315.65. The index is up 33.5% year-on-year and 31.9% year-to-date.
Heavy trade in Lafite saw the the Liv-ex Claret Chip Index touch 386.0 by month end - up 3.1% month-on-month. The index is up 42.2% year-to-date.
The value of the Liv-ex Fine Wine Investables Index on 31st October 2010 was 313.03, a +3.1% change on last month. The index is up 36.1% year-on-year and 33.5% year-to-date.
The Liv-ex Fine Wine 500 Index rose 1.7% to 243.84. The index has gained 13.5% year-to-date and +16.8% year-on-year.
The Liv-ex Fine Wine 50 ended the month at 367.79 - up 3.2% month-on-month and 48.3% year-on-year.
